Welcome to Step Out Walk & 5K Run - Philadelphia

This year, we are excited to announce the addition of the Run To Stop Diabetes 5K to our Step Out! For $25, participants can sign up as a Runner or a Red Runner to join the fight to Stop Diabetes.

We Step Out to do our part to Stop Diabetes® and take steps to improve our health! Participants are changing the future and making a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. You can, too!

Step Out Walk & 5K Run - Philadelphia presented by Merck is one of the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising events, to help raise money to find a cure for nearly 30 million Americans living with diabetes and to help improve their lives.

Meet us at the steps at of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to participate in a fun 5K walk or a timed 5K run. Participants register and recruit co-workers, friends and family members to walk or run to raise money for the Association. The day of the event is a day to celebrate the fundraising accomplishments of our teams, walkers, and runners as well as an opportunity to promote awareness, health, and wellness about diabetes in the local community of Philadelphia. We will be having sunrise yoga as the perfect pre-run and pre-walk warm up.

Are you #TypeRun?
The #TypeRun movement is bringing together and encouraging people to Stop Diabetes through running. Through participating in our inaugural Run To Stop Diabetes 5K, runners can support the movement by showing their commitment to living a healthy lifestyle at our Step Out event on November 5th. No matter if you have type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, are supporting someone with diabetes, or are preventing diabetes through running, you can be #TypeRun! Join us November 5. Read more on our Featured #TypeRun participants

Registration for both the walk and the run will begin at 7 a.m. The 5K run will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will begin with opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m.
