The Diabetes Control and
Complications Trial was a large multi-center trial involving over 1400 volunteer
patients with type 1 diabetes. It began in 1983, ramped up to full speed by
1989, and ended early in 1993 when the investigators felt the results were
clear. If this is the study that was used at your lecture there is a lot of
contoversy about this study that you might be interested in reading.

Thanks Misty, boy that new lower
rate is bad news for me! I guess I'd better get to work! My husband and I are
going to Austin today to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter and granddaughter.
Hope you all have a blessed day!

Dear CB..why should I
defend a empty carb high fat diet ?..I only wanted to know about
wheatgrass..sorry if I offended you for some reason.

To BLIND JOE DEATH, cut it out!
Whoever you are, you would do well to get into a power rack! A good post-workout
drink is a scoop of protein powder, one tsp dehydrated wheatgrass, and 12 oz
apple juice. Medication, of course, will need adjusting. Go ahead, have fun with
that one! By all means, defend the empty carb, high fat regimen.

Faith, sorry for
the delay in responding. A1C normal wpuld be lowered to 4 to 6.5 range and bs
should be less then 140 two hours after eating. Blood sugar before breakfast
should be around 110. Our class was called "The latest and Greatest in
diabetes". They had studies in thousands of D keeping the a1c below 6.5 and
others with a rating of 7.0 and above for a 15 year study. It was sure clear to
see the ones who kept the bs back at 140 two hours after eating had over all
better health. I will try to get the report names and other information relating
to this and let you know. Take care, Love and Luck, Misty

14:15:25 was not me. Just another
reason why this place is dead. Bad enough people attack for no reason on here,
but then use someone else's name. I never said I was too busy for this place. If
you'll read back you'll see where I said that I wasn't going to come around here
much due to the need to keep recuperating from my heart attack. I haven't been
here much and still won't, so find someone else to argue with and attack.

TO JIM: For someone who is so busy
in his life he "doesn't have time for this place" - you sure do show up and run
your mouth alot. Seems to me I remember you whining not to long ago about how
complicated your life is and how you don't need to waste time here.....get
lost...and get a life while your at it.
