Good evening all!
Well it looks like the shenanigans are up to their old tricks again. Oh Well! It
was nice while the quiet prevailed. GORDO:Thanks for the heads up, I didn't
think to as the Optitian if he had experience with diabetics. Duhhhh! I've been
doing ok with the B/S. Cheated a few times this week, but had held the 7lb
weight loss. My mom told me last night she could see my cheekbones and jawline
again!. It feels good I can move better and have a little more energy. 10 more
lbs. to go and I'll be satisfied. Faith: I hope the mouth thing gets diagnosed
soon. I can stand pain anywhere but my mouth. I'm praying for a quick recovery.
My husbands grandmother had PA. It was diagnosed just before we found out she
had alzhiemers. (No relationship). She had the shots and did ok after that
healthwise. I go to see a neoro Dr. tomorrow for a test called Nerve Survey (?).
It's to see if I have nerve block because the tendonitis isn't healing. I still
have days when it aches and I lose feeling in the last two fingers and my elbow
is really painful. It's been that way all day. I go around with my hand in my
pocket because it hurts to let my arm hang down. Hopefully it'll get straightend
out soon. Left handed typing is the pits. Anyway, I hope you all have a good
week. I know the Holidays are coming...don't stress about it. It comes every
year we'll get thru it like always. Connie

Blind Joe, cardio vascular exercise
may be the way to deal with this, although a low protein diet will make that
hard. It isa bummer when D requires under nutrition.

Blind Joe, a lower carb diet with
higher protein will help. Also, avoid margarine. too many polyunsaturates can
cause this problem. Your DE is right, diet can help.

Faith: Several
times I have posted about Pernicious Anemia, and diabetics are some of the
people who get it. One of the big signs of this icky autoimmune disease is a
burning tongue. I suffered from it for a long long time until I was sent to a
blood doctor and he knew immediately what was wrong. I had no B12 in my system.
I use to rinse my mouth with Maalox and let antacids sit on my tongue. It was so
terribly painful. I was very fatigued and so run down I could not get out of
bed. Other indications of Pernicious Anemia are: lung problems, memory loss and
neuropathy. The tongue thing seems to happen first. The list goes on and on. I
think you should have the simple test run ASAP...If you have PA, you will have
to take shots of B12 for several months and then one monthly. I inject my own
every three weeks. The memory is the only thing that has not returned 100%. It
went undiagnoised for too long. A B12 tablet does not due the trick because the
body does not absorb the B12 due to the lack of something called an intrinsic
factor. That is what takes the B12 into the blood stream. Many doctors miss this
disease because it mimics diabetics in poor control. I argued for a long time
with my doctors saying they were wrong about my D being out of control Several
of them had big apologies for me. PA is somewhat rare.It usually appears in
alcoholics, vegetarians or third world countries. Their symptoms can be
reversed. If it is real PA such as seen in diabetics, you will need the shots. I
would have e-mailed you but couldn't find the e-mail address in the chat group.
Good luck to you.

Hi Y'all:
Weather turned cool here last night the low was 36. I sure do like the new
personality of this board. All's well here Jodi is putting together a shopping
list including some outside Christmas decorations, and some soup makin's. I sure
do like soup in cool weather. Beth's doctor found out that she had not gotten
rid of her cat, just moved it to the garage and outside. He ordered her to get
rid of it immediately. Becky and her boyufriend brought it down last night. So
now an old couple who could not make up their minds as to whether they wanted a
dog again has 2 dogs and a cat. Kevin called first thing this morning asking
what time the drive in animal shelter opened. I called him a smart ***. He
responded by telling me that he and Denny were thinking about bringing us their
2 dogs. BS was 118 this morning. I am beginning to see some patterns that will
help me on my bedtime snack. Not only what to eat but whether or not to eat. Jim
where are you? I'm very concerned about you guy. Faye, just keep on keepin' on
girl. Faith I don't know what to say about your mouth. I'm assuming you are
familiar with what the Bible says about the mouth. LOL Herb (Bear)

for you the last few months. Take care! I'm doing pretty good w/my BG's. They
are a little high, but I think that is due to some kind of infection in my
mouth. Not sure what it is yet, but am going to see dentist as soon as I can get
an appointment. My tongue, lips are always burning slightly. When I drank my
diet Coke, whoa, does that burn! Will see what it is! You all take care!

Good Evening all!
Wow what a nice time I had reading the posts. Not an unkind word anywhere! I
hope it stays that way. Jim: I'm sorry to hear about your heart problems. My
husband had a heart attack about ten min. after getting to work on the midnite
shift. He felt tired before he left, but that wasn't an unusual event, sometimes
he didn't nap well in the evening. His symptoms were his left elbow was killing
him. He was sweating like a pig and he felt nausuas (sp?). He went to the
restroom to wipe his face (never go someplace alone when you don't feel well!)
At least he had the foresight to go out to the hall when he felt really bad. He
couldn't catch his breath and could hardly walk. Someone asked if he needed
help, he thought he could drive home, then just slid down the wall. Thank
goodness someone called 911 when they saw how pale he was. Congenital coronary
artery disease was the diagosis. His dad had a heart attack at 56, and had high
cholesterol. Mike had it really bad was way over 260 or so. Now he's 46 and only
had one other episode with an irregular heart beat that same year. It just goes
to show, you can't take anything for granted. I've been doing pretty well since
I started Actos almost 3 weeks ago. Still higher than I'ld like in the am,
mostly 124-136. That's whether I eat after dinner or not. I got glasses for
reading in July, but it wasn't really bad. Just a minor adjustment for
blurriness at close range somethimes. Now I need them all the time because after
a line or two I see really blurry. The eye doctor said vision changes in type 2
only is a problem in someone who hasn't had good conrol and has high BG readings
for a long period of time. I'm not so sure that can be true. But if it gets
worse by the end of the year, I'll go back and talk to him again. Fay: I hope
you get to feeling better soon. My minor aches and pains are nothing to worry
about compared to what you've gone thru. Take care and I'll continue to pray for
your health. Well, I dont have my glasses on and i need to go to bed anyway.
Have a good evening all. Connie
