I have no idea where you turn in libel posts, but if they get nailed, I would like to see a posted list of the names. I will tell you that although it was worth it, there are many people I lost touch with over fights that I regret. I was told often to let people fight their own battles, but as you saw with the comment with Sabrina, that's not an easy thing to do. I do miss those people though...... Marc

Some of the things that AP's say on here just isn't right. Take the time that I posted, warning people about clever ways that these sick people can get porn into your computer system for kids or anyone else in your house to view. ALL I was trying to do was give people the info to protect their kids. I took days of crap over that. If one person stopped their kids from seeing that filth, it was all worth it. I personally just keep turning them in for libel. Written accusations that are not true is libel. Harassment, and cyberstalking are also taken serious. Their internet address can be had through a subpoena to the place they're posting at and they can/will be prosecuted. Maybe then there will be peace. Too many people stumble upon this board needing help. Soon Steve and his cohorts will be caught. Jim

Your intentions may be good, but you will get beat down, and is it really worth it? 90 percent of the people I used to protect won't even talk to me anymore, so it wasn't worth it to me, but that is for you to figure out on your own. I have found support, camraderie and sharing just by bypassing these other posts. I think you fell into the trap I used to fall into which is once you start answering them you can't stop. Well you can't win, and the only thing you lose is a little bit of your sanity trying to reason or outthink it. IMHO it is better to leave it alone in it's cage and not bang that cage with a stick. After 8 weeks of diahrea 3-4 times a week I quit. After one week tried just 1/2 tablet at breakfast. It only took 3 hrs. to kick in! That's out the window. Dr. wants me to try to go by diet & excercise and check my BS twice a day. I check 3 times usually so will stick with that. I'm going back to my basics books and sample menu plans to try and stay in line. I will try and eat little amounts more often to keep things as even as I can. My Dr. said if I can't keep things on an even keel she'ld like to try ACTOS (?). I'm going to look it up along with the Amaryl you suggested and the DIABETA that JIM refferred to. I don't want to go back to Micronaise because I got too many lows with minimal excertion. That's way too scary. Lowest I went was 48, Dr. doesn't believe I wasn't unconcouse. But It took a long time to get even again, and I don't want that to happen again! Thanks Chat Buddies for all your help. I'll let you know what happens & will keep checking in. Connie

Sabrina: I'd rather lack a brain or heart which can easily be found at the end of the yellow brick road than be a spoiled, potty-mouthed slacker/liar who blames everyone else for her situation and expects sympathy, handouts and support from hard-working individuals. At least SOME of us EARN a living and don't look for freebies.

if only () had a heart or a brain. faith don't you hate when that happens? with me, i eat untill i stop shaking. then i have high sugar. so i just eat a bowl of cereal. by the time i'm done with the cereal, i'm not shaking anymore. i heard somewhere that chocolate isn't a "quick fix" it takes a while to kick in. but i still love it. my problem is i end up having a low right before bed. and a bowl of cereal before bed isn't a good thing. i found some nite bites in walmart, (they special ordered them for me) and the chocolate ones arent that good. they are made in peanut butter too, but i haven't tried them. nite bites are little bars that you eat before bed and they time release sugar so you don't crash.

Good morning everyone.Connie- Ask your Dr about Amaryl. With the exception of a few days of highs last week (stress/illness related) it works well for me. Marc W- OK, you can come out of hiding from SD's loss yesterday. I won't pick at you over it. BTW, did you see that clothes-line tackle on Duh-g Frootie? Had to have made all the hi-light shows. GOOOOOOOOOO BROWNS!!!!! Faith- I know the rollercoaster and feel the same. Sometimes no matter what we do, this disease seems to have a mind of its own. Jim

Well, what a wonderful night I had. At around 2 AM I woke up sweating, (No not the change of life!), and unable to think. Go up, went to the kitchen and was punching away at my pump. I guess I was trying to turn it off, but couldn't think straight enough to do it. Was trying to figure out what to do when I noticed my Mother-in-laws miniture Hersheys on the counter. Just started stuffing them in my mouth like I knew what I was doing. Then when my brain finally started working, I went and checked my BG's. It was 47! Went back to kitchen and ate a bowl of Cheerios. Sooooo, this AM my BG was 391. Here I am on a yo-yo again!! I HATE THIS DISEASE!!!!

Hi Connie. How much Metformin(Glucophage) were you taking? Are you off it now? How long were you on Diabeta? It usually has to be increased to max of 4 5 mlgm pills day. I was put on Metformin because Diabeta was failing to control my blood sugars, and it started to give me sugars that were not in balance-too high,or too low-unstable diabetes. Metformin(Glucophage) I take max dose-4 pills-one breakfast,2-lunch-+1 diabeta,1 dinner-plus 2 diabeta. I take max dose of diabeta-2 in morning..(5) For stomach cramps, etc, you could take Imodium. It is not prescription in Canada.;don't know if same in USA. Good Luck. Marc Bernstein. One thing my doctor told me:I should eat smaller amounts, not three times-example:breakfast:7:00:Am-half slice toast, coffee. (10:30:Am-snack-coffee-saltine cracker(2). 1:00:PM:Lunch-small pasta+basil-tomato sauce,or goat cheese+lite mixed lettuce salad. 6-7:00:PM-(These are only examples-may not work for anyone else on chat) (This from my diabetes specialist: dinner:-6-7-8:00:PM. soup(small) or salad/dinner:roast chicken/broiled chicken/veal chop:med size. Vegies:(2)-cauliflower good choice,spinach./Zuccini. these are only guide lines for my use. consult your doctor first. Good Luck. Marc Bernstein..

Mary, you might be hypoglycemic. I would see the doc ASAP. For diet, try minimizing simple carbs, and go for complex carbs. Try raising protein; that can help stabilize blood sugar. Hope this helps! CB

Hi everyone! I know it's been awhile..I've been checking in now and then. Spending a lot of time going to Dr.s appointments for sever tendonitis of my right elbow and arm. Start Phys. Therapy Tues. I have a question...I switched to glucophage from glyburide because I was having too many unexpected lows. I can't take the glucophage anymore 'cause of severe diahrea Yucky! My Dr. seems to think since my A1c was 6.6 on the glucophage, I might manage by diet & excercise instead of meds. I'm wary of this at this point. I'm not 100% perfect on diet, but I do walk for 1/2 hr. 3-4 times a week and keep busy around the house. I'm not sure whether just diet and excercise will be enough, and don't want to take chances if I don't have tooo. I've been off meds for 1 week and am averaging 175 this week. I have a Dr. appt. but need to find out what other kinds of meds there are out there. Any ideas where I can look this up? Most web sights tend to be for type I diabetes, and don't have type II meds. mentioned. I don't need insulin yet. (Hopefully never) Any help would be appreciated. Also I can't get a cortisone shot for my arm until my sugars a stable. hopefully that won't be too long. Take care all, and thanks in advance for your help. Connie

to marc w and sabrina and all other proNapsterites: i don't know what you all do for a living, but how about we start giving it away for free on the internet? we'll just share and share alike wiht it (like our kindergarten teacher said to). like lars ulrich said, they'll support napster as soon as bill gates start giving his software away free on the internet. do you copy stephen king books, or buy them? if you buy them, why? isn't he a mega millionaire who will never miss it? football players don't get into football for the money originally, but the ones that make it make a ton of the green stuff. what's the difference? napster is just one more case of the musician's getting screwed. if you ever watch those vh1 "behind the music" shows, almost all of the big name bands go through a stage where they get screwed out of big money by the record companies. john fogerty lost the copyright to his own songs on one of the shady fine print deals. come on, musicians get screwed enough as it is. i'll not contribute to this. as a musician myself, i think this practice sux. bc

Good evening! Coming from a family where there is diabetes present, and not feeling well over the past couple of months, I have taken my blood sugar readings to see if I might have some blood sugar irregularities as well. I've been waking up a couple hours earlier than normal (between 3:00 and 4:00), with sweating and bad and confusing thinking. That first reading is usually between 95 and 99. I then have a small bowl of cottage cheese, fruit, and a couple of nuts. It then goes up to 136 shortly thereafter. About an hour later it was down to 84, after which I again ate something, and it went up to 114. I didn't have a chance to test again till about 3:00, when it was 120, and then around 5:00 I began to feel light-headed and sweaty again, so tested it and it was 90. Can you advise me if I should see a doctor, and also do you have ideas to get me to sleep longer?

Jim... gotta hand you guys credit. Davis has that team doing great. I didn't think the Browns improved so much. I won't use this as an excuse because I was only listening to the game, but Flutie sounded horrible today, and when we didn't get in from 1st and goal it was over. So congrats, I now have that old familiar feeling of losing a game late in the 4th. Same as all year last year. Back to watching CNN... take it easy and thanks for taking it easy on me, I am depressed enough!

GORDO: I had some things to take care of before I went to bed and just made one more pass by here and there you were. Real good to hear from you old man. I didn't stop to think how far it might be from where you are. Our kids live on the East side and it is about 23 miles down the T'pike to the north side of Muskogee and then it is about 10 or 12 from there to Greenleaf. Sure sorry to hear that you can't make it. We will be there Monday, Tuesday, and Wenesday evenings if your plans should change. We plan to drink some coffee or iced tea and sit and visit an awful lot and would love to visit with you if possible. If I am wrong on those miles it just proves what my family always says "Dad is always the optimist". Herb (Bear)

Marc W. Take it from me, the shoes are cheaper than a divorce or a funeral. Besides, you can look for someone with the same size foot MAYBE. 5 1/2 feet aren't too plentiful. We leave for Greenleaf Lake tomorrow right after church. I doubt that I will have time to post again before we leave. Y'all be good now while we are gone ya hear! We meet our oldest son and his family there tomorrow afternoon. Since Carolyn home schools she can do that at the lake as well as at home. My brother and his wife are coming over tomorrow afternoon for a few hours. They are the parents of the nephew of mine that was burned to death in a car wreck on July 6th. Greg will drive into Tulsa for work each day since it is only about 35 miles. Our son's mother in law is coming over with him one night to celebrate her 80th birthday and we are also going to celebrate the 13th birthday of his oldest daughter. We invited Gordo to come over for any part of it that he can and sure hope he can make it. My daughter in law has told the grand kids that I am going to teach them how to fish and that she is bringing corn meal and oil to cook the fish. She wouldn't put the pressure on or anything. I have been going through all of my old tackle ever since Don left matching up rods and reels and doing minor repairs so that everyone can have a rod to fish with. Jodi and I bought a little digital camera tonight so we can take some pictures. Greg is going to have to teach me how to do them on the computer. I have scanned 35mm pictures for years. I have 2 great Canon 35's with a collection of lenses and accesories but my 20/400 and 20/600 eyes will not let me accurately focus a manual focus camera anymore. Anybody out there need a complete 2 camera set?? I kept one loaded with slide film and one loaded with print film when I was at the boys camp and took lots of pictures. Well it's 11:00 PM here I better get to bed if I'm jgoing to be rested for church in the morning. Herb (Bear)
