Sabrina is another one -- sits around on the gov't dole letting other hard-working people support her lazy butt. No initiative, just plain laziness. A open hand stuck out for anything that's free, including stealing from hard-working musicians via Napster. Her motto-- gimme, gimme, gimme. People like that make me ill.

Hi everybody, I'm here. I just got up. With Don here last week I did not get my normally required amount of sleep so last night was a "catch-up" night. I know that this makes me a dinosaur and completely behind the times but I can't enjoy music that I can't understand the words and I am so hard of hearing that I don't understand the words on any rock music. The music that I really enjoy is the music of the '40s and 50's with all of its doo-wop and quartet harmony, even including the early Elvis. My 41 year old son loves rock music and he considers Eric Clapton to be the greatest guitar player that has ever lived. He prefers the early rock to what is played today. He is not a lot disimilar to me. His 11 year old daughter sings with the Tulsa Childrens Choir, both the concert choir and the honor choir. You have to compete for a seat on choir just like football players competeing for a slot on the team. We went to a concert of hers in Tulsa a few months ago that was held in this huge cathedral that supposedly has fantastic accoustics.Everything they sang was in Italian except for a medley from "Oklahoma". After the concert I overheard Greg telling Michelle that he enjoyed all of the music but that he especially enjoyed the Oklahoma medley, my feelings exactly. BS was 92 this morning/noon so my control is still good. Hope all of you stay in good control and Jim I hope yours comes down. See you guys around. Herb (Bear)

You might as well go to NFL.com and learn the back-up for SD, because you'll need him/her/whatever. This lesson free of charge. This will equate to a scrimmage game for the Browns. Jim

Jimmy.... sack? Oh yeah, that's right, you actually have never seen one. Well on the right side. A sack is when a person on the defensive side tackles the QB. Well I guess when Couch trips over his shoes and falls that is also considered a sack. Also, for future reference. A completed pass is when the QB throws the ball and it is caught by the same team. It is not considered a completed pass when Harrison steps in front of it for an interception. We will touch on that one in a future lesson. What you need to know is what a field goal is. It is when the kicker kicks the ball through the uprights. If it goes in between the 2 poles (uprights) it is good and worth 3 whole points. Which is all you will score so I guess that's all the lesson you need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would pay a fee and burn my own, which is what I was doing with NAPSTER. i think what it is, is that people were tired of buying a cd for twenty bucks and only liking two maybe three songs on it tops. my husband, bob, who is also a musician, loves it. he thinks it'll get people to actually give the music a chance, instead of boycotting it altogether because they are afraid of wasting their money. the stuff he gets, old unreleased van halen, loudness, t.n.t., the loudness and the t.n.t. arent even in print anymore. that stuff never got radio play. just like earlier megadeth, and even metallica. bob tells me that the band itself doesn't make a dime on the record. its all in tours. the record company is what makes money on records. his way of looking at it is if the people will come see him on tour, who cares if they buy my record? he's never been one to side at all with record companies. he thinks they screw people. and after watching as many behind the music's as we have, i believe it too.

Needless to say this left several hours each day that I wasn't even around to visit with him. He left here with 3 pair of my old boots. I only asked him to do one thing when I gave them to him and that was that he would leave footprints in the mountains with them. We went to the rifle range with Becky (my youngest daughter) and shot some rifles and pistols. Don was impressed with her. Especially with the way she handles a gun. While there we sighted in Kevins Blackpowder rifle so I can use it in the upcoming blackpowder season for deer. We leave Sunday afternoon to meet Greg and his family at Greenleaf lake for a week so I will be out of pocket next week. I guess some rain had to come into all this fun and frolic. Jodi and I came home from OKC with "MOLLY" Rick and Beth's little hair ball of a dog. The doctors told her that her Masto had advanced to a stage that she could no longer be around pet hair. We left it with her that we would bring Molly back when Beth gets better. But the facts are, there is no getting better at this time. It is a degenerative, terminal disease. All they can do with it at the present time is slow it down. BS's still holding up well. Need to go to bed and get my 10-12. See all of you in the morning, or maybe tomorrow afternoon. Herb (Bear)

I went with my husband the other night and the lights of the cars didn't bother me so I tried driving myself the other night just to go a short distance on a road that I could probably drive with my eyes closed. Ther was quite a bit of traffic but it didn't bother me at all the on comeing or the traffic in front of me with the red tail lights. I am nervous driving so I son't do it much even in the daytime. I did go and get my hair permed and cut today but wore my glasses that the dr. gave me after my cataract surgury./ I know you like Arrowsmith, My son is going to be a guard at his concert that he is giving here in NH. It is all natural, tastes exactly like sugar, looks like sugar, and you can even bake with it. (Thank God) You can ingest a bunch of this stuff, and glucose readings flat-line. I have no monetary incentives for this post. The company is privately held. But I just can't sit by and not tell anyone. Now I can eat cakes and cookies. (yeah) The web site is www.wheylow.com Take care

I thought the following would be of interest to people using needles for their insulin- (From WebMD)The thought of needles sends some people over the edge, but one researcher has found a way that your freezer can help numb the pain of going under the needle. Keith Denkler, MD, gives his patients Botox injections to smooth out forehead wrinkles. This procedure involves several sticks with a needle on each side of the forehead. Obviously, his patients would welcome anything he could do to minimize the pain they had to endure in turning back the clock. Since ice packs and freezing sprays are often used to help with pain from needle sticks, Denkler decided to see if freezing the needles could provide the same benefit. After freezing the needles overnight, each of the 77 people who were undergoing the Botox injections received a stick from both a frozen needle and a room temperature needle. However, since an assistant placed the needles on the syringes, neither Denkler nor his patients were aware of which of the needles were cold. Interestingly, the frozen needles were deemed less painful in 77% of people, more painful in 18% and no difference in 5%. Overall, Denkler found the frozen needles to result in significantly less pain than needles kept at room temperature. Denkler's painstaking research appears in the Oct. 3 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association. While this is great for those of us wanting to rid our foreheads of wrinkles, what does this mean for the many people out there, such as diabetics who require insulin, who are subjected to frequent injections every day? Since this technique does not appear to cause any harm -- other than the 18% of people who seemed to have more pain with the frozen needles -- Denkler says that freezing needles may lead to a simple method of reducing discomfort for anyone requiring injections.

Actually Doug Flutie is a pretty decent rock drummer. His band, the Flutie Brothers Band has 2 CDs, Catch This (which features mostly cover tunes like Mustang Sally, Cinamon Girl, and Brown Eyed Girl), and Ramblin' Scramblin' Man, a CD featuring band originals. He has sat in with the likes of Arrowsmith (one of MW's faves, and Bon Jovi, and the Boss I think).

The discussion on booze was interesting. In my case booze causes blood sugar to plummet, so I do not drink. Personally, I can work most anything else in to a meal. I just stick with the healthy stuff. There is an excellent vegetarian restaurant in Escondido, where I go sometimes. I take powdered protein afterwards to "beef" up the incomplete proteins in the meal. Foods avoided: Anything deep-fried, ice cream, non-organic milk, most commercial vitamins, white bread, butter, vegetable oils, except olive, most red meat cuts, except for the leanest, all lunch meats, salt, non-organic juices, overcooked veggies. You get the idea! heh heh

I've been doing this for about 2 years and my HBa1c has never been over 5.1 so it WORKS FOR ME IN MY OWN CASE. I always drink diet soda when I do drink it. And yes, on Saturday nights, I have a few mixed drinks at home with my wife. I realize that this automatically makes me a drunkard but that's MY problem.

Sabrina, I will answer that. If you like your sight, stop the bullshit with drinking. An occasional glass fine, but your description with a 463 is a prescription for diabetic disaster. To answer your question, anyone could lose their sight. It hurries it along the more you abuse your body, but you don't have to abuse it to lose your sight. It's a fickle thing, some people get away with it, and others get it ripped from you without a reason, just happens. Part of being a diabetic. But if you really want to better your odds, get the sugars down and steady. That gives you the best chance. You see, that's where you are a liar. At the time I "bailed", Kerry had left as a founder long before to deal with some things, and De, along with myself and Theo were the founders. I'm sure that anyone knowing these people can verify this. I can't believe what a pathetic, loser, liar you are, but at least now everyone else can know it too. Let's see: You've painted me as a liar, a drunkard, a troublemaker, a mentally ill person etc etc., and yet all of this as an AP. You left out Butcher, Baker, and Candlestick Maker. Your accusations have less truth than Mother Goose stories! LOL Jim

Jimbo--after you bailed on BWD, I got emails from you bashing the other founder, Kerry. You also bashed other members, including me, when I failed to agree with you. You then started another Yahoo club for diabetics, then bailed on that one, too -- deleting the club and blaming someone else for doing that. The TRUTH is you are a self-centered jerk who is trying to reform his image on here. Won't work cause too many people know the truth.

Good morning everyone. Well I guess in absence he/she/it had to have someone to attack. Herb- Your post yesterday morning was very profound, and you're right. I WAS a responsible poster until there was only a couple of people left on here to post. I just figured that they had driven nearly everyone away so how could giving them some slap back hurt the place any more? BTW, I'm NOT guilty of the email thing after I "bailed" on them. If I was such a bad person, as a co-founder, I could have celeted their entire club from yahoo, but didn't. I'm not that way. I got tired of getting multiple emails from some members bashing this one or that one. I don't have to explain this I know, but either it's believed or not. Don't matter as I know what the truth is. Anyway, back to business. NEWBIES- There is a lot of help on here if you scroll through the garbage. My "drinking problem" that was mentioned here yesterday reminds me of something that was brought up on here before. While it's best that diabetics don't drink alcohol at all, if you do you have to be very careful. If I ubderstand it right, as you drink, the alcohol stops the liver from dumping glucose into your bloodstream, causing the possibility of severe lows. This effect can last well into the next day. Never drink on an empty stomach and test often. People have been known to go into a coma from low BS while drinking. Have a good day everyone. God Bless America. Jim
