I think (and I'm sure all diabetics on the chat would agree) highly
important to visit the world famed (and very important heritage museum,in
London,Ont) Banting House. Yes,this is the place where insulin was discovered in
1921,by Sir Frederick Banting. He was a brilliant doctor,and fine artist,we as
diabetics have a great deal to be thankful to Sir Frederick Banting,his former
home,now a heritage museum in London,Ont. Where there burns for 24 hours each
day,a special candle in memory of those early diabetics who Banting helped so
much. The web site is available care of "Canadian Diabetes Society". (On
internet) Worth seeing..withour Dr.Banting,all of us diabetics (no matter
whether type 1/or type 2) would not be as well off. If you are in the area of
London/Toronto/Windsor/NY ,etc,plan on a visit..The memory of this great doctor
must be preserved.

will use, it is believed the technique they will try is similar to the technique
that produced Dolly, the world's first cloned sheep. Carbon copy The technique
would involve taking DNA from a cell and implanting it into an egg that would
then be placed in the mother's uterus. The resulting child would be a carbon
copy of the person from whom the DNA was extracted. Dr. Ian Wilmut, who created
Dolly, said it took 277 tries to get it right in a sheep. Wilmut does not
support human cloning. Zavos said his team believes they have the science to
successfully clone an embryo and implant it in each woman in the project. Though
cloning a human being is not yet against the law in the United States, Zavos has
said the group does not plan to do its work in the United States. He has not

grandfather(and his 5 brothers-all were fine Cantors all over North
America/South America. My grandfather's voice was that of a very high and
powerful tenor. It is common for Cantors to suffer haemorrages;this happened
often to my Zaida(Yiddish word for grandfather) My grandfather suffered a stroke
in 1957,until he died in 1968,he had only half speech,but still was able to
sing. (no,none of my grandfather's family were diabetics,but all had high blood
pressure,plus heart disease. (diabetes came from my great-grandfather,a
rabbi,and my mother's father) I guess he didn't take insulin,I don't recall if
he took oral diabetic pills. I am not certain when he became a diabetic,but all
his life he was very underweight,and once tried to to gain weight by drinking a

name huh?). Kind of scary. Hauling potable water with my own truck. How is this
related to diabetes? I think that this is why my sugars have been running high.
I've been so anxious/hyper, worrying about all the details, that I think the
stress had kept them elevated. Everything went off perfect with my first few
customers. There is a HUGE market in this around here. My competition runs 4
trucks 7 days a week. Lucrative business. Wish me luck, I need it. One thing
that I don't really think is fair though, is that if I ever have to take
insulin, they will take my Commercial Driver's License away. I guess I can
understand why, but let's say that in 3 years I quit my day job and make this my
only means of income. If I was to have to go on insulin I would either have to
close down or hire a driver. I guess that is enough motivation (besides the

Of Great Lakes","Sir John A.Macdonald Museum(Canada's first prime minister)
Beautiful heritage museum built in 1840. He and his wife lived there 1848-1849.
Kingston's waterfront is particularly of interest to me. Will be taking day
trip(to see London's famous "Banting House Heritage Museum") in a few weeks.

sportshirt(too late to get back to hotel in time) the rain that day was
incredible. I guess as result of combo of air conditioning cold and allergies.
But,on the mend. (didn't test recently) My sister is doing ok,seems to be the
lesser skin type. Still we're all keeping our fingers crossed. I like Kingston
alot. Lovely town. Not sure how long I'll be on Biaxin:stomach problems usually
result. I do tend to sweat alot in hot weather,also when I eat spicy foods.
recall there is a diabetic term for it. Herb,a Cantor is a tenor with a very
high and specialized voice. Usually very lyrical singing,also quite intense.

really don't like the humid weather too much. though the ragweed season usually

me to Monterey for 2 days. It was so beautiful there. Some fog, but not cold
either. We went to the Aquarium and spent the entire day there. It was so cool!
We went Antiqueing too. Lots of walking. Not so good on the b/s tho' 'cause we
ate so much. Not too terrible, just portion size. Well I figure I gotta live it
up once in a while. I think i haven't adjusted to the glucophage yet either. I
think it is more sensitive to what I eat than the Micronase was. IE: I had 1/4
cup of tuna on an english muffin, small handful of chips and 1 cookie for lunch.
b/s was 222! O.K. so it wouldn't have been so high before on the other meds, but
I see I need to tweek things abit by using `1 piece of muffin not 2, and
skipping the chips, and/or the cookie for a piece of fruit. Am having spaghetti
tonite with garlic bread and salad for the family. That means a huge salad for
me, with no bread and 1 cup of sphaghetti. I'll see how it goes. Jim: Re: Aug.

covered. I was laughing too hard to finish the exam. During a patient's two-week
follow-up appointment with his cardiologist, he informed his doctor that he was
having trouble with one of his medications. "Which one?", asked the doctor."The
patch. The nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours and now I'm running
out of places to put it!" The doctor had him quickly undress and discovered what
he hoped he wouldn't see.... Yes, the man had over fifty patches on his body!
Now the instructions include removal of the old patch before applying a new one.
While acquainting myself with a new elderly patient, I asked, "How long have you
been bedridden?" After a look of complete confusion she answered, "Why, not for

I am not leaving, I just said I won't take the time to get involved in the drama
here. I have my reasons for thinking who is who but in hindsight that makes me
no different than them. So your right, who cares if it is or isn't him and if
someone thinks I am someone else. Diabetes is the subject and I will keep that
