hour ago:meter didn't read it properly. Getting fingers bruised. Have never
tried non-fingers. Otherwise,feel fine.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed reconnecting is not easy on both sides, so I will
remember the more solid side up. About your e-mail, may I suggest this. Cut
back, go high and work it down. Since your that low at night, your better off at
200 and bring it down then to wake up in the 40's. Remember it's now just your
third day so to not be hitting the numbers is normal now. It sounds like you
have just a few tweaks and your there.Have fun this weekend (Faire).....

hopefully will show how my diabetic control is. I have a second dietician,(Lisa)
coming to my apt each week,usually for at least 90 minutes. She was sent by
Victorian Order Of Nurses. She'll be coming each week. She's quite an
expert-very sensible and pragmatic. I can easily live with her guide-lines that
she is setting for me.

for the info. It snailed here today. Getting a bit easier each time but not yet
comfortable. Of course, it's only been two days:) The new device from Minimed
is, I believe, called The "Quick Set". It is supposed to debut in late March or
early April nad my doc said it isn't as simple as some folks think. She's
staying with her Silhouette. Here's one tip you ma not have been provided: my
fist post-insertion shower was easy to dis-connect but I had a hard time
re-connecting. The male part is not the same on both sides (top and bottom). he
"more solid" side-up is the way to go.

Yesterday:tested twice:12.3,morning,and afternoon:13.2. These sugars are
non-fasting. I looked up my overall average:11.2. My doctor will be checking
fasting sugars,plus cardiagram,possibly heart stress test,maybe ultra
sound-(ulcer) This nurse is a gem. She is someone super-special. She has turned
out to be not only a superb nurse,but what a wonderful person!

unbelievable. Here in BC. we get on the nation wide newscasts showing the
sunshine and people being on the beach sunning themselfs. Still dressed though,
the wind is a bit chilly yet. I'm sure this summer many people especially from
the maritimes will move here. Don't hope the Island (Vancouver Island) will sink
with all those people. In the maritimes they have had 15 snowstorms so far. Nice

Marc, Yes, it is snowing right now and another 12 inches is expected. I
don't know where we are going to put it. My porch roof is buckling in the middle
now. Our son will shovel it off tomorrow. He hurt his arm today shoveling for
the "old" people. I woke up this morning with a low at 4 o'clock, was 58. Had
some grape juice and crackers and stayed up until 7 then went back to bed. I
checked the BS's with the new meter this afternoon and was 168, 1 hour after
eating a chicken sandwich and a cup of soup. Hope you all have a good day and

getting more snow later? Misty.. my trainer called yesterday and we are getting
set up next week. She told me about a new insertion set that disconnects at the
site. So if that is why your are on the Silhuoette you now can get that with the
other one. But it does still go in at a 90 degree angle so if your problem was
like mine, and I remember it was, then we have to stay with the 30 degree angle.
But the new ones sound nice for those who use the softset.......Marc

talked to at Minimed about some sofsets not reconnecting, either didn't have all
the facts, or was not in touch with a data base that keeps them. I have had 2
sofsets malfunction and they were impossible to re-connect. Minimed told me they
were handmade, replaced them at no cost, and they told me we have 10 re-connect
times, in 3 days. So use one right away when you change. To be sure it will
re-connect. Human error has to be factored in, and a part of the cost, I'm sure.
Always keep a spare around.
