Hi Sandy, we have been very concerned
with the information CB puts out to the new diabetics that come here for
support. He tries to impose his pathlogical hatred of medical professionals on
people without any thought of the damage his advice can do....

CB do you
have a medical license? You are prescribing treatment here and that can be very
dangerous for the people you are trying to help. Unless you are a certified DE I
would be very cafeful. You can cause more harm than good.

Good afternoon CB and Faith. Faith, you and I have arrived back on the board
at the same time. I have been in close contact with our daughter in Albuquerque
this past week and know that you must have not had any emergencys that required
outside help. Don't you love the New Mexico food, especially the way they use
the green chile's. I was born in Raton and grew up eating green chile's on just
about everything. In New Mexico when you order chile' on any thing even a hot
dog they ask "red or green"? Most people that are unfamiliar with chile's will
say green thinking that the red is the hotter of the two, big mistake if you
don't like hot food. We spent several days driving all over trying to buy a lift
that will lift my chair into the back of the van. We went to 3 different dealers
and even to 1 factory because they all said that their lift would do it only to
discover that they didn't know what they were talking about. It turns out that
their is only one lift that will put my chair in the back of our van and it
costs $3,500 which is way beyond our budget. So we bought a $400 folding ramp
instead. Jodi has more trouble than you can imagine trtying to load and unload
it. When you are backing the chair up the controls work in reverse. If you want
to turn to the left you push the little joystick to the right. She just cannot
get the hang of this and I can't afford to laugh at her. We have to go to Tulsa
Wednesday for a funeral. Our nephew (my brothers 24 year old son) was burned to
death in a fiery car crash in the edge of Tahlequah Okla. The young man had
experienced mental problems for most of his life and apparently just went off
the deep end. It is a miracle that he did not take any one else with him. I
guess you 2 noticed like I have that although the board is super quiet today and
yesterday it was hyperaactive while Faith and I were gone. Herb (Bear) and

Well I managed
to keep BG's levels in control, most of the time while we went to New Mexico
last week. Had a wonderful time there. Managed to try different foods w/o going
overboard. Hope everyone is doing ok, keep up the good work on those BG's
readings!

Sam: Good point about foot care! A
former co-worker lost a foot for failure to inspect. Regular use of lotion helps
a lot. Don't forget vitamins. They can help dry skin problems. Sorry to sound
like a commercial, vites from WHOLE FOODS are easiest for the bod to absorb.
Also bear in mind that the RDA is INSUFFICIENT for Diabetics. We need more,
especially antioxidants and B vitamins! They are easy to get, either at a store
or online. Many healthfoods stores have educated people, with degrees, who know
what they are talking about. Always ask questions, and double check the answers.
I have saved a lot of grief by doing this.

I am on the road again..it's
finally raining and cool..this time I have enough pump supplies, for another
week. I have dead feet from neuropathy, and my driving heel has a
callus....watch those feet...you don't KNOW when they are dying! Callus' (sp?)
build and you MUST sand, oil them, or they will split to the meat. You can lose
a foot. I met a woman that had done that. Check your feet every day. WIth a
mirror if you can't see them. It's very important for any diabetic. Good day.

To the person or persons who
feel the need to waste this chat space in a useless diatribe (look it up if you

to more frivilous chatrooms like www.coolteenchat.com. Everyone else, ignore
them! Flo, I would definitely have a doctor look at your feet. A simple test to
check for nerve damage would be to take something sharp (like a lancet) and
touch it gently to your toes. You should be able to feel it.

you on lispro, eat 15 minutes after dose, Regular, wait a half-hour. Test bs

problems can cause weight gain. But why would the thyroid problems begin with
the insulin therapy? (Implied) Diet? Never the problem! Both ADAs are WRONG!!!
Except for the sedentary. Do anything athletic, and everything changes. RDA,
BMI. are both invalid for the athletic.

Flo- I can't answer the insulin
question because I'm type II on oral meds. What you described about your feet
sounds EXACTLY like neuropathy to me. I've got it bad. Other things are extreme
sensitivity to the feet so that even a bedsheet causes pain, burning, stabbing
pains. Have you told your doctor about this yet? Most peripheral neuropathy in
the feet and legs is worse at night as far as I know. Mine is. I have a lot of
info on this if you would like. Jim

Good morning
everyone. To 16:16:28- I know better than to do this, but I will anyway because
this place can't be damaged much more than YOU already have damaged it. You
don't just pick at people on here like some other AP's. You come on here and
attack with severe malice with intent to hurt. Then, when someone says they wish
you would kill yourself you get offended? What's wrong? You don't like getting
your own medicine? Did YOUR feelings finally get hurt? While I don't condone
urging suicide, you have to admit that you are a terrible waste of a perfectly
good skeleton, who adds nothing to help people who are suffering. Just realize
this, only your AP bretheron (sp) on here will sympathize with you. Most of the
rest of us see you for what you are and could care less. You can start with your
barrage on me now, I don't care. At least I got the satisfaction of telling you
what I think of you, and unlike you, my name and email is posted. Feel free to
contact me there sleazebag. Jim

Thyroid problems could cause that sudden weight gain. I understand your
frustration with your doctor who doesn't seem to care, but can you find out ASAP
if your thyroid has been checked lately? If not, INSIST on being tested
today!

Sabrina: Thjat weight gain is most
likely either fat gain or water retention. My guess is 85-95 pervent of your
calories come from starches and fats. Factor in insulin's help in getting
glucose into cells and a problem results. It sounds like your diet is wrong. To
Sam and Jim, wheatfrass juice and sprulina are excellent detoxifyers, as is
chlorella,
