Marc - I would be inclined to agree w/you, if it wasn't for the fact it happened again today, and I just changed out to a new site this morning. I was thinking that might be the problem, so I changed and up I went to 357 or something close to that. But back down this afternoon to a 65 after leveling out to 112 before lunch. Oh, the joys of it all! I did drink a supplement in skim milk this morning. The supplement has 10.5g of carbohydrates per serving. I also ate a 'small' crossiant. I covered that with 3 units. Then up to 357 I went! Go figure! Another poster on here emailed me and suggested it might be the Quick-set. But I didn't have another one of those this morning, so I went back to the QR-set. Trying to figure out this mess is such a joy! NOT! Anybody else have any suggestions? I'm open to any GOOD ones!

Today was one of those wet ones. Rained during the night and cooled things off quite a bit. It started raining again late this afternoon. Hope it's better tomorrow. Hate having to keep the granddaughter in the house all day, she really loves playing outdoors. Steve's son is home from Japan, that's where he served his tour while in the Navy. He'll be visiting us for a couple of weeks and then off to school. He wants to go and get settled in before the fall term starts. Job hunting is one thing he needs to do before school starts. Hope everyone has a good night. Fasting bs was 129

Mr Zero,....just for the record....I lived for 5 years under the NAZI Regime and saw several friends executed by them who worked with me in the underground. If you don't know what that is, look it up on the puter as you seem to have endless time to do so. So to see you talk about a time when you were not even born yet is pretty stupid. Your fellow inmate posted on here and told us about your condition. Therefore I will excuse you for your non-stop nonsense because you may not even be aware of what you are doing. This board however is here to help people, yes, even you. So if you tell us what your condition is called I may be able to help you somewhat since I have an extended medical library to look things up in. I'm sorry you are in for that long a time.......I wonder if all those lows you complain about have caused your condition because lack of sugar will affect the brain first. Glad to help. JOHN.

Faith.... I have the same problem, mine is happening in the early AM. I will tell you what I figured out and I know you won't like it. When that happens to me(other than the early AM) it is a sign that it's time to switch out of my site. Could you be having slower absorption because of your "very bad habit" of going a week at a time? Just a thought, although not a happy one for you if it is right. I am now doing the every 2 hours thing to pinpoint my morning problem, it appears though that it's too much insulin and my highs are from bottoming out. The joys of this disease. As to what Misty was talking about, Minimed has a new, smaller, waterproof pump coming out in Feb of 2002. They have some sort of upgrade program but if I recall it is not for 508's but models that are older than that. The new one is even smaller and have more features then the 508, but as I keep learning everyday I only use about a 1/4 of what's available.MISTY... the part that scares me about the remote is you have no visual on what you are taking. You listen, but I like to get a visual confirmation to the number I am taking. You know the arrows work like that too, with it going up a .5 at a time, but it beeps as you do it, like the remote, right? On to other things, my horse lost in the Kentucky Derby and GO LAKERS AND KINGS!!!!!!!!!! Marc

Hi to all! Sam & Marc, I have been using the remote control for a year now and love it. That is how I can hide the pump in my bra and never have to move it all day. The remote works great when eating out. It can be set for a .5 or 1.0 bolus, each time you press the button it will give you the set amount. Remember you must push the act button until it beeps to wake it up, then press the bolus button for the amount you want and push act again. It will then play back by beeping to confirm that is the amount you really want. You then must push the act button one last time and it will start pumping. It only takes a few seconds to do. Good luck, love & luck, Misty

Today was a fairly good day. Daughter came by and we went to the Florence Mall, of course we had Jenna with us and she was really a very good little girl. Didn't give any trouble at all. We ate at the Courtyard in the Mall. They have a great chinese beef and rice meal. Couldn't eat it all though. Jenna of course had a hotdog with cheese on it from Gold Star Chili. Once we got home Penny left and Jenna played in the sand box we bought her yesterday. She really enjoys playing in the sand. It's fun just watching her play. I usually take my book and a soft drink out with me and sit on the porch swing. We took it out yesterday, so now I can really get comfortable with my book while watching Jenna. BS this morning was 149, at least I think that's what it was. Well I took my evening pill so its getting close to my bedtime. Everyone have a good night and good BS in the morning.
