Fro those on inulin, proper range is 80-120 with nothing higher than 140 2 hours after a meal. 5-6 smaller meals help keep blood glucose in line w/o sharp rises and drops. Squats

The uncaring people are the ones that keep the good people off here and you need to ignore all the back stabbing and garbage and still keep writing. Some of you really help the ones that need it more than you think. Experience is everything.

Dear Karen: The post below is not mine. Sad to say, we still have some very uncaring people here.

Dear Chakradar: We cannot prescribe medication here. As for your blood sugars. Without calorie variance, you might eat oatmeal instead of cold cereal or toast. I do not know if you are on insulin or oral medication. Sounds like some adjustment is needed. Please see your dr. Squats

I think we all have learned the hard way.

Well said! You absolutely must be an advocate for your own health care! Do not assume your doctors' time is more valuable than your own. You are PAYING him/her to care for you - make them tow the line! I once had to wait nearly two hours to see my doctor (AFTER I walked out the previous 2 appointments because he was so late). The only reason I waited the 2 hours to actually see him face to face was to ream him for caring so little about my health and the health of his other patients. The flowers he had delivered to my office the next day did not deter me from switching to another endocrinologist. Doctors who are so dismissive of their patients should not be caring for them - - they should stick to research. Just a suggestion, but when you have an appointment with your MD, take time before the appointment to write down your specific questions so you don't forget anything; make sure your blood sugar log is neat and up to date; know ahead of time which prescriptions you need to have renewed; and lastly, stand firm about addressing your verbal issues BEFORE the doc performs a physical exam. It's too easy to shoo a patient out the door once the "medicine" has been practiced. Sign me, learned the hard way!

If you believe you don't get to spend enough time with your doctor, it is primarily your fault. As the patient, you need to stand up and demand appropriate health care. No one is going to fight that battle for you. Don't allow the doctor to end the appointment until all questions are answered, all issues discussed, all treatment options thoroughly explained. I understand that most doctors are overbooked, cramming more scheduled appointments into their day than is feasible to handle. But that's their problem, not mine. Once I have the doctor in the exam room with me, he doesn't leave until I am finished.

How much time does ANY of us get to spend with a Dr? I appreciate most advice given on here & am intelligent enough to see if it may apply to my diabetes. I take what I need, leave the rest and appreciate any opinions, given by other diabetics. What works for them. Thanks, Squats & others.

I was simply going on something posted before me!!!! As it turns out, H is seeing a Dr. Why didn't you attack the person who recommended dropping the Laqntus by two units? Dr. () BTW, nobody pays attention to your diet of death label. It doesn;t help anybody.

Finally got ahold of the dr. and they are going to implant some kind of monitor for three days and it reads out excatly what the blood sugars are doing and when, this should be interesting. Maybe we'll get some answers. H

I asked for advice and I know I still need to call the dr, but sometimes it's nice to hear other people's opion. Don't give other people shit for posting answers and their thoughts, that's what this place is suppose to be all about. I don't like leaving my name,so from now on I will be signing off as H. That way not everyone is on here as 0 and getting things confused as to who said what. H
