sounds like you and your son have a good gripe on his care. I've been on the
pump since 93. This is the first time I've heard that someone would have to be
taking 30 or more units a day to be on it. I guess that is good really. If he is
able to control his BG's with less insulin, the better for him. I avg. around
45-50 units a day. That isn't much compared to some. Continued good control to
your son.

first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I
thought to be a courthouse. The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and

couldn't take my eyes off of him. As he took his seat behind the bench, he said,
"Let us begin." The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and I am here to
show you why this woman belongs in hell." He proceeded to tell of lies that I
told, things that I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of
other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the
further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at
anyone, even my own lawyer, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely
forgotten about. As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about
me, I was equally upset at my representative who sat there silently not offering
any form of defense at all. I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had
done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm
I've done? Satan finished with a fury and said, "This woman belongs in hell, she
is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove
otherwise. When it was his turn, my lawyer first asked if he might approach the
bench. The judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned
him to come forward. As he got up and started walking, I was able to see him in
his full splendor and majesty. I realized why he seemed so familiar. This was
Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior. He stopped at the bench and softly
said to the judge, "Hi Dad," and then he turned to address the court. "Satan was
correct in saying that this woman had sinned, I won't deny any of these
allegations. And yes the wage of sin is death, and this woman deserves to be
punished." Jesus took a deep breath and turned to his Father with outstretched
arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so that this person might
have eternal life and she has accepted me as her Savior, so she is mine." My
Lord continued with, "Her name is written in the book of life and no one can
snatch her from me. Satan still does not understand yet. This woman is not to be
given justice, but rather mercy." As Jesus sat down, he quietly paused, looked
at his Father and replied, There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've
done it all." The judge lifted his mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The
following words bellowed from his lips... "This woman is free. The penalty for
her has already been paid in full. Case dismissed." As my Lord led me away, I
could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I'll win the next one." I
asked Jesus as he gave me my instructions where to go next, "Have you ever lost
a case?" Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that has come to me and
asked me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, Paid in Full."

article explaining diabetic retinopathy. In the article is explains how most of
us WILL develop some sort of eye problems. If you would like a copy of this

Even after all I've read from Marc, De's, and everyone elses posts on this and
virectomy's, this article really cleared it up for me (no pun intended). Now I
kind of understand what they're going through and realize that there's another
reason to keep the bs as close to normal as possible, as well as regulr visits
to the eye doctor. Again, email me if you want to read this, or buy a copy at

is in good range and really watched what consumed, my only off the wall neglect
was in having a slice of hawaiin bread, that was stuffed with spinach dip. Too,
too, good. left the fried potatoes totally off, had slaw, one hush puppy, and

using an insulin pump for the past year and a half. Obviously the insulin pump
is not for everybody. I myself was doing great on multiple injections until I
reached the point where my NPH insulin was peaking on me at 3am to 4am in the
morning. I was like a zombie until I found myself in the hospital after a 911
call. My primary physician gave orders that I had to be seen by an
endocrinologist prior to my release from the hospital. The Endo put me on the
pump and set my basal rate for Midnight to 5 am to 0.2 units of insulin per
hour. I have not had a low reading in the early morning hours since. I feel that
every therapy works for different people and as long as they meet the 7% or less
on their HgA1c they are doing great and should continue what is working for
them. For me, the pump saved my life and I will continue using it for my therapy
until something better comes along. This will be only posting on here as I find
this Chatboard too depressing to read and I certainly do not need to be
depressed. Good luck to all the sincere diabetics on here and hopefully the
negative postings on here will not drag you down.

much back to normal. Fasting this morning was 131. Have had people in and out
all weekend. My daughter Lorrie and her husband and son came in Thursday
afternoon and will be leaving on Monday morning. While she is here everyone is
trying to get down to visit with her and it's a real mad house around here.
Friday Penny came for awhile but couldn't stay or hold the baby because her soon
came down with strep throat and according to the doctor was highly contagious
for the 1st 24 hours. My other daughter, Mary came down with 3 of her children
and stayed several hours. Today, we met my Aunt and one of my other daughters,
Sandy for breakfast. Took pictures of my Aunt with her great niece and great
great Nephew. My son-in-law, Keith had the video camera and took some video of
the breakfast and also videoed while we took pictures. After getting home my
grandson, Chris showed up with her latest girlfriend. Penny came back and we all
went to Gold Star for chili. Thankfully everything is quiet right now. In fact
I'm getting ready to call it a night myself. Hope everyone has a good night.
