works on a body clock timed with sunlight. Melatonin is released at certain times. All the hormones are released on the cycle. To do reproductive endocrinology studies you have to draw blood at exactly the same morning hour three days in a row. So while the exact details are fuzzy, nature runs us as well as the seasons. And for diabetics the time change twice a year can wreak total havoc with testing and eating times and that can throw off the counts.

and explain his financial need. Pittsburgh has a huge medical center complex with nearly a dozen hospitals all clustered together, working with each other. Some are connected with tunnels and skyways. You can't get better care than there. if he thinks he doens't need to afford health care, explain to him how much the funeral is going to cost

I have a question not a thought for now. I want to know if anyone knows how a diabetic can get help with blood test and doctor care. My son who won't go and probably won't qualify for assistance, cannot afford Health Ins. Needs to see a doctor and hasn't gone to one in long while and his excuse is he cannot afford it. I have notice his bad mood swings and I know it's his high blood sugars. He has that attitude he knows what he is doing and will be fine, not to worry. How many times has that been said about a diabetic thats fed up. He lives in the Pittsburgh area, Thanks if anyone can help.

What exactly is the reason for the Dawn effect? I know what it is , but why does it take place andd is it more pervasive in certain cultural groups?

I've been insulin dependent for 19 years and have fibromyalgia along with other health problems, I'v always wondered it I could get disability but have never tired it. I guess it depends on what state you live in to, as to how easy it would be to get on

Disability for their diabetes? The lawyer said to get it with diabetes you have to have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel. He did, however, take the case. Anyone have fibromyalgia along with and the arthritic condition that develops in the joints?

Squats: You are an idiot. Most of the supplements that use Ephedra are not regulated by the FDA - therefore they don't have to own up to the risks. I've seen more than one stroke patient as a result of Metabolife!

Diabetes is not about sugar. It is about blood glucose manufactured by your body from the foods you eat. Carbohydrates are converted to glucose and they are starches too not just sugar. And there are natural sugars from things like fruit. There is no way to determine "how much sugar" you need. Your body determines the amount it produces from your foods and then your pancreas is supposed to produce insulin that controls the blood glucose level. Diabetics don't have normal insulin production. You "need" enough carbohydrates to maintain your blood sugar at 80-120 [there are different ideas on the range] and anything too low or too high is a problem. You CANNOT regulate diabetes by how much sugar you do or do not eat.

Nanny says "no" to ephedra. When will the FDA learn people are responsible to learn the effects of what they take? I don't use it because it can raise blood pressure. But I find out! It is tragic if someone dies from misusing a supplement, but it is THEIR fault. Gov't should bug out!

Wow, my insulin pump mal-functioned yesterday, and I woke with a sugar of 519. Thought I fixed it, but this a.m. it was 538. What a way to start the year. You can't walk, think, no strength and it's really horrible. I think it's o.k. now, a small thing, but you must be vigilant about your sugars. I got it down to 181 now, and am waiting for a crash..there was air in the line. Pump wearers...this can happen! The local Hospital here is not good..backward, even. Ins...what is that? Maybe I will have some by 2-04? Be on alert for these things. This is what drives me crazy.
