Of course I know about those brands
but they hardly contain any codeine. Oxycodone, and Percodan and the like, well,
you have to present a doctors prescription in triplicate, because they are some
of the strongest available. But thank you for your reply. I use tylenol-3
myself, and they only require a simple prescription.

see a
chiropractor or a doctor and have your neck xrayed because you could have
degenerative discs (osteoarthritis causes this) or you could have a whiplash
injury. Some very small bumps can cause those and you may not feel any effects
for many years. I have a whiplash from years ago but I have the same symptoms
you are describing because I have arthritis in my neck. When it swells I get
woozie, I also lose my balance and walk into doorframes. Very annoying. 90-115
is excellent for bloodsugar.

if you have Fibromyalgia and are talking about "hard work" you have a
problem. There isn't a lot known about it except that it has been identified for
decades and some doctors still "don't believe in it". But it is truly painful.
Vigorous exercise can lay you up for days unable to move. Pain meds do not work
on it. It is somehow wrapped into the autoimmune disorders. MILD controlled
exercise is necessary to maintain motion. There is a lot of info on the internet
particularly at major medical sites. There is an entire group of related
problems with Fibro...cognitive dysfuncion specifically word retrieval (you just
go blank and words aren't there. I lose nouns in the evening, can clearly
envision something familiar and not be able to retrieve the name of it);
stabbing eye pains; digestive upsets. DO YOUR INTERNET HOMEWORK! FIND OUT WHAT
IT IS AND IS NOT. I live out in the sticks and we have Fibromyalgia support
groups around. One would imagine the pain affects those diabetics who react to
pain badly.

This one diabetic class I took gave
out forms to answer and it was to determine if you where type 1 or 2. With some
answers people came with being inbetween and they said it is possible to be a 1
1/2, it all depends on when you became diabetic. Like with me I was in my late
20's but they said I had juivele diabetes.

I can get 5 # of them at the local Co-op..hmmm...interesting as pain is an
ongoing problem with me, I have R.A. besides IDDM. Do you crush them? I thought
American poppy seeds had nothing. Pain management in the States IS a problem.
Horrible situation, in some states!! Canada, where I travel, allows aspirin with
codeine to be sold across the counter...you can bring back a bottle of 100.
Ambien...I have, but no side effect..for me.

times. I've had more then 25,000 of them dam things in my life time. I have lost
an eye from diabetes and the other is not very good either. I am 48 and small,
127 pounds and have been that way for many, many years. What kind of work do you
do that causes you so much pain? I have pain and depression at times but nothing
that would allow me to recieve narcotics to control it. I like the poppy seed
tea route. Easy to obtain, cheap, and legal. Take Care of Yourself

Marc W I know what you are talking
about as far as opiates lowering blood sugar readings. You are 1 lucky guy to be
getting those painkillers you mentioned. Why did they perscribe them to you in
the first place? Where is all your pain that they would give you opiates like
these? I've had diabetes for 43 years and I don't have all this pain, but then I
don't sit around and do nothing, not saying you do. I've found that when I take
even 2 number 3 codine tablets within an hour, hour and a half my readings are
below normal and I'm looking for a boost to get them back up where they belong
and they stay on the low side until they affects of the drug wears off. To bad
these drugs are so addictive or so they say. I think they should rethink their
options with painkillers. They sure don't do enough for pain management in this
country. Now I drink 2 cups of poppy seed tea a day. Yes poppy seed tea. Poppies
are where the opiates come from and a person can get relief from pain and
depression and help with relaxation from consuming it. You must use lemon juice
which helps in the taste and extraction of the morphine in the seeds. It's safe,
cheap, and the best part it's legal. A person doesn't have to go to the doctor
and try to beg them or plead with them or try to convince them that you have
pain that just wouldn't go away. Thanks for the good posts that you and Amy had
shared with us. Take Care

Amy.... I take a couple of
different pain killers. The usual ones are Norco, which is hydrocodone with
little acetaphenimin. The other is Oxycontin, which I don't suggest until you
have tried others, it's a big time triplicate form pain med. I understand the
depression, I used to just take days off and sit around wondering why I bothered
getting up. But if that is where you are at, you should find a proactive,
aggressive doctor. Life should be better and with the right treatments it can
be. I am not saying become a pillpopper, but whatever you do it's better than
sitting around depressed and in pain, and having big swings in the bs ranges you
said you have. There really is a light at the end of the tunnel, you just need
to find the right doctor and find the right approach that works for you. Good
luck and take care... Marc

fibromyalgia and have been fighting with that all summer. Have serve neck,
shoulder, elbows and lower back pain. The doctor said no anti imflomory drugs.
Not even advail, which I use alot of. The health food store recommends alot of
vitamin c and calium with magnesium,E and antiaxoidents. Every time I try to do
something it flares up the fibromyalgia. Just missed two more days of work
because a back spasm. I'm going to try physical therphy next week. Tried it once
before and couldn't handle it, so I think it's time to try again. What kind of
pain killers do you take Marc? There are some days it's really hard to cope with
and the depression sets in. What a circle it all runs in.

Amy... what kind of pain are you
in? I live with chronic pain and here is what we have found with me. My doc has
a no anti inflamatory policy with diabetics. The risk to reward is pretty high.
With me, pain caused my sugars to be out of whack big time,300+ all the time. So
awhile ago he put me on pain killers, after surgeries and many times at PT. With
the pain killers I live a "normal" life and my numbers are more like 100-130 and
not in the 300's. My wife is pregnant, and I felt I should be off the pain
killers. So for a trial thing, I took myself off of them. Within 24 hours I had
no control of my blood sugars. So my point, and my docs, is that the highs
caused by the pain are far worse then the daily pain pills. I am monitored,
cannot take too much because I only get the prescribed amount, and bloodwork is
done every 3 months. Now this is an extreme, but if you get to where you can't
control your diabetes becuase of pain, you should look into everything, you
never know what can work for you. Good luck, and if you have any questions, feel
free to ask. Just for reference, I am 36, so it is possible to "break down"
before your time so to speak. Just in case you are young and feel like I did
about it. Take care..... Marc

let my insurance run out b4 we could get the testing done, altho i was a hi risk

degenerative, irreversible, incurable and progressive. and now i am on no meds.
if the spine trouble is maybe diabetic and a lack of exercise then i can do
soemthing about that. soooooo e-mail me. oh and by the way, i did discover that
calcium can help numbness if taken at 700mg and if it is calcium citrate and on
a regular basis. soem may have to reduce that down to 400mg. but for this prob,
it didnt help. it helped great for leg numbness tho

Julie, I used to know the conversion
factor to get to my measurement but I don't anymore. I would like to know about
your nighttime eating habits starting with your evening meal, and anything else
before your fasting measurement. The human body has a unique safety valve that
breaks down muscle into glucose to supply the brain's needs when you use up your
glucose stores during the night. This may be what is driving your fasting
numbers up. Another possibility is sleepwalking to the fridge for desired
goodies. Gordo
