Ramona, I've
been on the pump for 6-7 years now. What would you like to know about it?
Go to www.minimed.com there you should be able to find out all you need to
know. But, feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer them.

ON STOMACH
PAINS gastroparesis is not likely with only two years in but certainly should be
checked - there is a series of timed scans that can be done tracking food thru
the system. DO LOOK AT HER INSULIN. Humalog was to be a miracle insulin and
actually was for those who could tolerate it but there were a lot of people who
suffered a lot of gastric distress with it. Check the side effects of whatever
insulin she is taking.

Hi everyone, just have a question to
see if anyone else is having the same problem we are. My daughter has be Dx with
type 1 for 2 years. She is 11 now, and is having sevier stomach pains. I took
her to the e.r. this evening and they think her pancreas is spasming. ???? I
have never heard of this. I will be caller her specialist in the morning as this
has all happened after hours. Just wondering if this is normal for type 1's.

Meri: Have you asked your doc
about Lantus? That is a long acting insulin without peaks and valleys in
activity. It might work for you. Also, there is a variant of humalog called
"Novalog". Since everybody is different, I do not know if this will help, but
ask the doctor.

Necie: The changes required can
be overwhelming. Be in close contact with your healthcare providers. Share
problems you are having in following instructions. It takes a while to adjust!
Make it your goal to be as healthy as possible. Early, good control can work in
your favor. Squats

To
those who feel they need to lose weight and don't know how to do it. A low carb
diet is a good way to go. This one is mine! 5 carbs-breakfast 3 carbs-lunch 4
carbs-dinner 3 carbs-late snack 15 grams is 1 carb If you think you'd like to
try mine email me for details! I might be able to find some recipes for you
since I work in a library!

After further thought on turning
"blue" from Seasilver, I wonder if that anecdotal evidence against its use was
not following directions! Vitamins cannot be consumed like the carbs in the food
(fat) pyramid.
