To 09:28:49 Never worry about offending anyone here ! The decent people don't take offence at any information provided. Only those clueless dumb bunnies get hot under the collar over everything written - the sort who don't know illegal drugs from Rx medications who always misread information then get on some personal bandwagon and make fools of themselves. THE REST OF US APPRECIATE INFORMATION SUCH AS 'WHERE TO LOOK'. So THANKYOU for your post!!!

it seems that from what you say about your transplant friend that he has not been taught well about diet and what to watch for at the onset of rejection. He, and you..if you are intrested , would do well to become a member of, and get the newletters from a transplant support group. I belong to several, and can send you the website of the largest , which has many Canadian members. I am a support counselor for that group.

Well I would like to know why you assumed that my friend whose name happens to be John didn't seem to be taking very good care of his transplant. i thought you could see an area for correction that might be correctible if he had the info. I felt that you were implying that we don't because we live in Canada have the same facilities available for learning and care WHICH WE PROBABLY DON'T. I thought that because you were familiar with the topic you could offer some knowledge and some friendship while sharing the knowledge and it is something that scares me. It is easier having a friend like John who has been through it and is vibrant and dynamic and just an A++++ person to be around. That makes it scare me a bit less but he doesn't talk about it. I am beginning to think he would be the same type of person REGARDLESS so I was interested in discussing it with someone. Just the whole thing.

costs about 40k / yr in meds and lab tests to keep a kidney, more for hearts, livers, others....and thats if you do not get sick or have a rejection

You're email was delivered with Subject Re:Test. I know it works and you know it works and I think I am just getting jerked around. Made me a bit sad because I thought I was going to get some info regarding diabetes/kidney transplants. Also made me a bit mad because I felt jerked but i sat in the nice "last days of summer" sun with a cup of coffee and it passed quickly. Thanks for the e-mail note.

How about trying this (1) Go to this site www.canada.com (2) Look on the right hand side of the screen and there will be a box that says UTILITIES and in this box it will say E-MAIL LOGIN and sign up. At this point you can either (a)write them a nasty letter and say their e-mail service doesn't work because you ran it on Nurotrace or (b) sign up for your own non-existing e-mail address. Mine has worked fine for a long time and I'm sure you won't be troubled with yours. You are trying my patience. You ask for my e-mail address so you may talk to me and then when I give it to you you say it is not valid. There is no winning with you is there. Why don't you try the e-mail address on Outlook Express or an e-mailing program and just write test or something and see if it will send. I really can't understand why everyone else can do it and you can't.Sorry.

Must be incompetent idiot-excuse-for-a-doctor week. My daughter called, obviously in serious trouble medically - off to the E.R. We get a doctor who sees - young, female, shaking uncontrollably, sweating profusely, weeping, babbling. Albuterol reaction no doubt. The dr ignores everything he is told about the patient history, the meds she is on etc. and starts asking about her relationship with her boyfriend and how old he is. Decides the age gap is causing an anxiety attack, gives her a sedative and sends her home. No exam, no labs, checked her breathing thru a quilted jacket. Okay, I nailed him and took her home, discontinued the Albuterol and the antibiotic. Checked on her all night - he doesn't know any more about sedatives than he does Albuterol - didn't even make her sleepy. FAMILY DOCTOR - takes a look, says she now has Pneumonia (hard to hear thru layers of quilted material) and proclaims she had an obvious classic reaction to Albuterol. And he told her be sure to tell her mom to send the letter directly to the Hospital Administrator. The letter is written complete with references from the Harrison's (current medschool text on internal medicine) It is hard for me to believe that in 2002 we STILL have doctors in emergency rooms who treat women with sedatives and never look for a cause! The letter is being filed because this guy could give a woman maalox and valium and send her home to have a heart attack. Had my daughter continued the Albuterol as he was insisting as well - she would not be alive today. AAAACCCCCKKK The consolation is the family doctor. Balances out. WE are responsible for our health and well-being. We have to sometimes go much more than halfway in the medical community just to stay alive.

..to 13:04...that's what I thought. The hospital is South Haven Community Hospital in South Haven MI...the same Hospital that sent me to surgery, for a rotator cuff injury..never checked my sugar before, during or after!, and I was out cold. They didn't understand the insulin pump. so ignored it. Now I called to regroup with Dr. Dotson there...who put that on my lab papers. These medical people in a small town, do not know anything beyond what they see. No one else is on the insulin pump. I know about Faith...we are rare, but we exist. This will affect my medical records. I am going to the ENDO as soon as possible, and never to this hospital again!

My upcoming trip to California (the best carshows in the world I THINK) How cool it is to look at trees that are 1000 years old? The Joy of Fishing? We could go and chat somewhere if there is any place that you like to go. We must be REALLY BORING people here. Just let me know and if you set a convenient time I will try and be there. Later.

I have had IDDM for 10 years now, am on the pump...it doesn't matter, she said. These are almost different diseases! I don't trust nothin' medical...any more..ever. They don't have enough time to really care. Has any other 'pumper' had this happen to them...over 50+?

Tried again but when I entered this address it put the frame on the URLitself. Like I said I get to a homepage and can't find the info. It was done in BC Canada and I have no idea if he cares for it properly because I don't know what that involves. I know when we travel together and I cook it means NO spices, salt, bananas but I eat a very bland diabetic diet myself so he has never compained and I would just assume if he shouln't eat something he doesn't. He is a very big man and an adult to boot. I know when we travel together his diabetes and blood sugars are GREAT and this always impresses him but I am a real stickler for eating at the same time daily so that probably helps. I find it hard at times to travel with him. I now am at the point where I pack my bloodtester and strips CONTINUALLY when I'm with him and insulin reaction supplies. It is hard work to look after a diabetic even when you are one.
