Maybe Gordo can answer the following: Fars are called lipoPROTEINS and are
handled by the body in the same way as amino acids. Is this correct> If so,
say one's meal plan is 2000 calories, 200 calories protein and 800 calories fat.
Wju couldn't a switch be made to 300 calories from fat, and 500 calories from
protein. Wouldn't that make no difference to kidney stress? Secondly, aren't
there problems which result from one's PH level being wrong? We a;; lmpw about
acidosis, but if the body is too alkaline, can't other problems develop. It yet
appears that at least some so-called complications result from bad diet. For
example, chronic leg pain may result from loss if muscle in the leg and/or
insufficient potassium. I look forward to your answer. Squats

Gordo,....read and
reread your article. It is very good because it is from the book you mentioned.
It requires real good attention and study. It is not something you can just go
through and while I knew most, it did go into certain things into more detail.
Thanks Gordo. Hello Herb. JOHN V.

Outback Steakhouse! Thinking
about going there for lunch later. Maybe dinner. I do what has to be done there.
No butter on the potato, whole grain roll, salad dressing on the side, etc.
Forgot the salt; I don;t use it. The only restaurants that give me a problem are
the McDonald's greade pits. White flour is like pure sucrose! Fat? Olive oil,
flaxseed oil, fat in salmon are all better. A little more on metabolism. Whether
one bodybuilds or not, maintenance of muscle mass, whether one is male or
female, is crucial to avoiding obesity. Muscle mass keeps the metabolism up,
helps maintain good posture and bone density, and is conducive to a feeling of
well being. Increased metabolism prevents nutrient storage as fat. About muscle
wasting, this is a major concern when weight is lost rapidly. When strength is
being lost, it is a sign of this. Increase in bodyfat, even in the context of
weight loss, is another sign. Why post this? I am a bodybuilder, and believe the
above, too often not communicated to those of us with D, must be a
consideration. A similar post, some time back, positied a diet, NOT MINE!!!!!,
of 89 grams/day. met with being called "high protein", even though for a 180
pound male, that would be less than 1/2 gm pound of body weight. Hardly high!
Hope this info helps. Squats

Well, what do you
know, something that "isn't" caused by or linked to diabetes! LOL!! I have heel
spurs and my recent foot fracture irritated the spur on the other foot.
Instructed me on some other type of massages, and gave me a night splint. Very
attractive!! Ugh!! Hope everyone is doing ok today. Not much seems to be going
on here at the moment. Will check back later!

Good morning guys!! The sun is shining and the snow will melt some today
when it warms up. It is only 22 degrees out now at 8:20. WW Meeting was ok last
night. I gained a half pound but I knew I was going to as I had to many things
with salt in them all week. I will not do the same this week. I am not
discouraged though as I ate what I could and in the amounts I was suppose to ,
so the to much salt was my own fault. No more stir frys with soy or tereaki(sp)
sauce. Maybe I will use some low sodium chicken or beef broth instead of the soy
ect.---CB, am getting my 5 pound weights today to get those arm exercise
started. Have found a good one to do for the legs from one of my Simmons
tapes.---SAM, will send you the recipes that you wanted this afternoon. Have to
go grocery shopping now. Have a great day everyone.---OH YES--I did the
treadmill 5 times this past week and am up to 1/2 hour on it. A good
accomplishment for me!!!!

you're never on line. I guess thats because you uninstalled it huh? I've only
have it up and running a few minutes when I 1st come on and then I close it
because no one I know is on. Played darts tonight and lost again. 22 - 16. Oh
well we still had fun. Going to make it an early night tonight. Took my before
bedtime pill and will be ready for bed in about 15 min. My trip to Wapakoneta,
Ohio is definitely set for the 19th and 20th of this month. Really looking
forward to it.

and I've seen how it could be worse. Believe me. Just think, if nothing else
right now, you wouldn't have come to this site and wouldn't have made such

Hiya!! It's a beautiful day in
Ohio. The sun is out and the spring flowers are blooming.:+} And best of all my
knee brace is in and I'll get it Monday. Oh, to be able to go for walks again
without fear of falling! My pnamonia/broncitis (sp) is on the down swing and
after not being able to lay down to sleep for 12 days, I slept in my own bed
last night!!! Oh Happy Days!! Gordo? Don't worry about the loosing the e-mail.
No problem. I wish Big Brother would send me my return so I can get glasses.
These ones are 2 and a half years old and give me a headache trying to read the
monitor with them.:+{ I stick tissues under the bottoms of them to hold them up
because I can almost read out of the very bottom of them.. Don't laugh!! ah, go
ahead. I do when I see myself. I live in the eastern part of Ohio. It's easier
to say Wheeling, WV though. I guess I'm about 26 to 30 miles from everywhere
really. As we say, you can't get here from anywhere and why try.. Hah... I hope
everyone's day is a pretty as it is here. Toad

JIM: You're
right it sure is quiet. Belive it or not we have the AC turned on. We had
freezing temperatures last week and it was 87 yesterday and supposed to be a few
degrees warmer today. I guess we will just pass on spring and go directly from
winter to summer. As big as I am I suffer terribly in the summer heat. Oh well,
I guess I have to have something to complain about. Better the weather than
Jodi. She beats on me if I complain about her. Herb (Bear)
