Maybe some of you can
help me with how to deal with this frustrating situation which -- quite frankly
-- is driving me nuts. I am a Type II, recently referred to an endocrinologist
due to a suspected hypothyroidism condition. I called my GP's office (who had
recommended the referral to an endo) and asked to have the results of my thyroid
ultrasound and blood tests faxed to the endo. This was two weeks prior to the
appointment. I showed up for the appointment today (which cost me $90) and was
advised there was nothing faxed from the GP.....so we started from scratch. The
endo does not want to order more tests based on my verbal recounting of what I
was told, so now I have to call the GP and try once again to get results faxed
to the specialist. How would YOU handle it with the GP?....I am angry because it
will cost me another $90 for another appointment. I have major medical, but they
only pay a portion, and the benefits keep dropping from all the duplications and
such that occur from this type of ineptitude. So, what suggestions do you folks
have? Do I scream at the office gal at the GP who failed to do what she said she
would do? Or what?.....or should I blame myself for not checking with the endo's
office first to find out if the test results were there? I guess what angers me
is that if my office ran this way, I would start letting people go...
