-- Regarding this site, I have trouble with any physician posting data and
scientific findings as fact based on his admission of a "few illustrations." He
lists 3 patients he treated, but provides no background on his research methods,
techniques used, length of this study, etc. This kind of research is not very
credible. Admittedly, we don't know the long-term effects of aspartame on any
body, diabetic or not, but I would raise a caution flag on this type of
"research" that outright condemns a product based on this minimal data and
questionable research methods.

I have stopped all aspartame products and have been going through some weird
withdrawals. Again the almighty buck is more important than peoples health! I
just cant see how these companies can live with themselves knowing full well how
bad this stuff is!

ever. I fianlly received a pump after months of fighting with HMO's medical
groups and politicians. It will be installed on Jan 7th. I have finally decided
to file for disability "like I haven't got my fill yet of fights". I am a 41
year old diabetic and have finally worn down after 27 years of all out hard
work! My ability to function without constant reactions and high's has taken
it's toll! It's amazing how employers always act like they really want to help
you until it start's affecting there bottom line. Many people tell me it's
discrimination, but how do you prove it for one, and second I am not so sure I
wouldn't be just as callous if I were in there position. Anyway the diabetic
party continues for me, but I can't have any of the treats, hehehe! Hope all of

philosopher said that the most beautiful of Christmas lights are the tail lights
of your children disapearing down the street as they go home. That is just about
how we felt by Wednesday of this week. We love our kids, and we had a great
visit with them but we are both so tired. Wednesday our last ones left early
that morning for Albuquerque. I slept until noon. Jodi took a 6 hour nap that
afternoon, something she never does. It all started on Wednesday before
Christmas when Jodi went to OKC to pick up Beckie (our single daughter) She is
in the process of changing jobs and did not have to go back to work until
tomorrow. She went home on Wednesday with the New Mexico bunch. Greg's family
came in from Tulsa and Kevins family came in from OKC Friday evening. Kevins
family went home Christmas Eve and Greg's bunch stayed and had Santa Claus with
us. Since Carolyn home schools the kids they stayed with us and Greg drove back
to Tulsa each day to work, a 100 mile commute one way. Saturday morning Kristen
and her family arrived from Albuquerque along with Kevin and his bunch from OKC.
Sunday my brother and his wife from Tulsa (parents of my nephew who was burned
to death in a car wreck in July) came and spent the day. All the Oklahoma kids
went home on New Years Day and the 5 from Albuquerque went home on Wedneseday.
We had four generations and up to 19 people here at one time. This was the
quiet, peaceful, and restfull holidays for us. I really can't complain. We only
get to see the Albuquerque kids about once a year and we could not deny Kris's
siblings access to them while they were here. The girls were all fantastic, they
took charge of the kitchen and meals. They all brought large quantities of food
with them. Kris brought a huge amount of home made cookies and candies. I tried
one each of all of her cookies two a day. I resisted temptation on all the
candy. I sure like this new Lantus insulin it works great for me. I kept my BS
under good control the whole time. The only sad note at all was that Rick and
Beth could not be here. Jodi and I went to OKC on Thursday between Christmas and
New Years to be with them. She has been in and out of the hospital twice during
the holidays. Her doctor would not even consider letting her come or her having
a crowd in her house. Jodi is gone right now to pick up Ellen Cook at the Tulsa
airport. She is the wife of the "Bounty Hunter" friend of mine that died of
cancer a few months ago. FAITH, he and the Lord found each other before he died.
Then tomorrow Jodi and I have to go back to Tulsa for a funeral of a dear friend
that died New Years Eve. I know that this has gotten terminally long but I have
not been able to get on the computer for the grand children wanting to check
their E-mails or play games. Even the 4 year old from Tulsa boots up the
computer puts his games in the CD drive and has a blast playing games. I better
close now. Hope all of you had a great holiday season and that this years will
be one of good health and happiness. Herb and Jodi
