I'm up & out because of
my work. I get a disabled gentleman up, washed & dressed. Then home to pick
up daughter, & off to school/work. Then home again to take son to school. If
I test first thing, but don't eat?... Take meds, & don't eat?... That first
hr I'm up, I have coffee, but don't feel like eating. Also, if I eat that early,
I want to eat all day long--not good. Any advice?

I would take my meds and eat when I
first got up, I guess it depends on what you are doing, and why you are in and
out so much early in the morning. Are you out walking? That would make a
difference.

Yes, it means all of those
things! Diet, exercise, cut back on sugars and starches like bread. And check
sugars often. I wish it was as simple as just taking 2 pills a day :(

They like to keep bird flu in the news
and scaring people about what could happen, there is a movie on tv tonight about
it. I don't plan on watching it, what will be, will be. I guess some people like
to worry about other things, it gets old worring about what is going to happen
with diabetes. You either play the game and play by the rules or you sufer from
the complainations. It's that simple. I got tired of playing the game and now I
have the nerve damage and other problems. No one to blame but myself.
On Mon May 8 19:05:52 2006 () said:
why are you all afraid of catching the
bird flu? There is only 2 ways of getting it. Eating and playing with dead
birds, or breathing and playing around with bird droppings. I would be more
concerned of developing eye damage or kidney trouble then getting bird flu. I
believe it will not show up in the US real soon. The first place we will see it
in the states will be Alaska with all the migrating birds.

I have to agree with the last
poster. Everyone is sick or complaining about something. I never hear anyone say
"Nothing wrong with me, I feel great!" (I don't think I've ever said it either.)
Do they have a shot for the bird flu yet?
On Mon May 8 09:35:20 2006 () said:
Have you ever noticed that everyone is
sick? Walk down the street and talk to people, it seems like they either have
heart touble, cancer or are diabetic. You can talk to someone and they are
either diabetic or know someone close to them that has it. It's really sad.

The part that scares me about bird flu
is that it can spread so fast and alot of people will die from it. In are state
we are having a mumps out break. A neiboring state with a college started it and
it is really spreading fast. That's why it is important for everyone to get
their shots.

Bird flu scares me. It's not the flu
part, but the pneumonia. People get fluid in their lungs and never recover.

test after we found a wild bird outside our bedroom window but all he said was
to take a course of antibiotics and the repeat as well and see him in 3mt for
another test. Is there more that I can do I only have type2 at the moment but
who knows?yours Kest.

Upsetting to hear your
sugars are over 300==mine were in the two's but the lizard spit really helped me
and I hope you get the info on it. It's a drag having to get used to the shots
but has been well worth the trouble for me. I lost weight, lowered my BP and my
BS condiderably. My problem is that I use a wheelchair and my arms are blown
after 30 years of vigorous wheeling and I have trouble exercizing so I have
trouble with losing my weight and keeping it off. I am now (thanks to the
byetta) eating far more normal portions and filling full so please do give it a
try-if you walk you will probably have an easier time with the weight issue.

insulin?

somewhat better and Dr. also put me on Symlin to and it has been working
better. But i havent lost any weight with it as he said it was just like Byetta,
But of course I had to be the one that its not working on the weight loss. LOL .

How long has this been available? Why, if this stuff is so great, doesn't
everyone know about this? Im gonna read all i can about this treatment and would

Hell, I could write a book or two, an am
sure I would leave many a things out because it would be trival today. I'm not
whinning or don't want no one to feel for me but this disease is so hard to
control like they want you to. If only the educaters would be there, or wearing
the same shoes as the rest of us. I'm glad I can still wear shoes. Still have my
feet and legs after 44 years of this happy crap. Maybe if I didn't walk 4 to 5
miles a day I wouldn't talk so smart. It's just part of the game. It's the on;y
excerise I know and enjoy. Don't want to lift weights, or swim or dance or carry
on like a round head. Been there and it only lead to problems. Lows are tough
for me, can't begin to tell you about all the times I woke up to paramedics in
my room saving my life. Oh what fun. Glad you don't have to take insulin. I have
had over 20.000 of those danm injections just to keep myself alive for another
day of the same shit. Must be doing something right because last AC1 was 6.3
which just about blew mw out of the water. Wish I had a friend in the same boat.
I know I will never fall in love again unless the other person has diabetes. and
we can help each other out. Been hell having one that isn't. Now I'm all alone
and traped in time. Thanks for letting me ramble. Take Care one and all.

Those readings are all part of the game.
I'm so very sick of playing this game. Sure wish all the so called educators
were diabetic, have yet to meet one that was. Back in the 60's I could only
check my urine they did not have meters for checking blood sugars. Hell they
didn't even have A1C tests. I can remember having to boil my syringe and needle
every morning, and once a week having to soak the stuff in vinegar so they would
slide easier. They had no disposable shit. The needles were long and would get
barbs on them and would hurt like hell. Kind of like a fish hook. It has gotten
a lot easier for the new diabetes. Anybody want to talk about the good old days?

Pretty amazing those 107 readings. In

I'm looking for some comments. Tell me
why don't they have tv ads for syringes? Which ones hurt less, easiest to read,
sharpest and so on. you see al kinds of pickers when they are talking about drug
useage. Also all the ads about meters I have yet to see any of them stick their
finger and squeeze up a drop of blood and put it on a strip. All you see is a
reading, what bullshit.
